John Sumner account book, 1847-1856.

Account book kept by John Sumner of Collinsville, Connecticut. Sumner noted that in 1847 he moved to Collinsville from Gilead, Connecticut. By 1851 Sumner was involved with tax collection in Collinsville. In the spring of 1852 he auctioned off a leather topped carriage because its owner had not paid the school tax. Sumner had accounts with individuals and with businesses such as the Collins Co.
